WMCO are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded £144,255 over 3 years from The National Lottery Community Fund.
We applied for funding to meet the current and emerging health and wellbeing needs of local residents, taking account of the additional impact of the COVID-19 crisis, by strengthening the core operational capacity of Hilltop Community Centre. In particular, our focus will be on:
Strengthening social connections and the wellbeing of residents affected by the isolation and lack of contact with others
providing essential support to residents, particularly elders
Developing partnership working to provide opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of residents due to the impact of COVID-19.
This funding will also help us deal with the financial difficulties caused by the devastating effect the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns has had on our organisation and our resources to keep Hilltop running. Like many other organisations, we have suffered from a significant loss of income due to lockdowns and social distancing restrictions on gatherings, and the rising overhead costs associated with keeping Hilltop COVID secure.
