Covid-19 Community-Led Organisations Recovery Scheme (CCLORS) Funding announcement

WMCO are extremely pleased to announce that we have been awarded £20,634 from the COVID-19 Community Led Organisations Recovery Scheme delivered by Power to Change, Locality, The Ubele Initiative and Social Investment Business in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund.

We applied for funding to help us deal with the financial difficulties of lockdown and the devastating effect the coronavirus outbreak has had on our organisation and our resources to keep Hilltop running. Like many other organisations, we have suffered from a significant loss of income from cancelled hall bookings and fundraising events, due to lockdowns and social distancing restrictions on gatherings, and the rising overhead costs associated with keeping Hilltop COVID secure.

The funding will be used to cover some of these overhead costs, and other expenses. We will also use the funding to purchase IT equipment for the Akacia Saturday School to further enhance the children’s online learning by helping to bridge the gap in the loss of education during the school closures.

So a massive thank you to National Lottery players, as the National Lottery Community Fund have committed £10 million to the partnership, which will be used to support community organisations in England facing financial difficulties caused by COVID-19, with an emphasis on supporting BAME-led businesses. #communitybiz, #ubeleinitiative, #socialinvestmentbusiness, #localityUK, #TNLCommunityFund, #NationalLottery
