About us
Established in September 1991, Wycombe Multi Cultural Organisation (WMCO) is a registered charity (no. 1025525). WMCO is managed by a group of Trustees and a Management Committee, whom are elected at our AGM. The Committee comprises of members with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds. All Committee members are people from the local community and have a genuine interest in the benefits that the Organisation brings to those who live and work in the Wycombe District.
Since 1995, WMCO has operated from and is responsible for the Hilltop Community Centre. Through the community centre, WMCO are able to offer a variety of activities and services which are delivered by our partners to the local community, and thus helping to meet their social, economic and education needs. The Organisation has developed over the years into a community organisation that can demonstrate a degree of self-sustainability. WMCO is a not-for-profit organisation and all revenues generated by its day-to-day hall rental and fundraising activities are applied to the upkeep and maintenance of the centre and for activities and services which benefit the general well-being of the local Community.

We also rely on donations and grants and are very fortunate to currently be supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Our mission
Our mission is to foster strong community cohesion within the High Wycombe area, whilst providing a comfortable community facility which helps promote the education, health and well-being of the inhabitants, through social and economic regeneration.
Our vision
We strive to provide good facilities enabling the community to be brought together to access a variety of activities and services which help meets their educational, recreational and social needs.
Our aims and objectives
The aims and objectives of WMCO are to:

Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of High Wycombe without distinction of sex or political, religious or other opinions by engaging the local authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education.

Provide space and facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving condition of health and well-being of the said inhabitants.

Improve the range of activities, services and learning opportunities in High Wycombe.

Improve access for local people to the services and amenities that they need.

Create a cohesive community within the High Wycombe area.

Improve understanding and increase acceptance between different groups within the community.

Maintain a financially sustainable organisation that will remain active in the community for many years to come.
The Hilltop Community Centre is a popular community facility provided by Wycombe Multicultural Organisation (WMCO).
Our People
The real strength of WMCO is our people. The Organisation is managed by a group of Trustees and a Management Committee, whom are elected at our AGM. The Committee comprises of members (volunteers) with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds. All Committee members are people from the local community and have a genuine interest in the benefits that the Organisation brings to those who live in the Wycombe District; working together to meet their social, cultural and educational needs of the community.

The Board of Trustees takes overall responsibility and acts collectively to govern the Organisation. They are responsible for ensuring the mission and long-term aims of the WMCO are met. Trustees have a legal responsibility to ensure the Organisation is complying with current legislation and governance best practice.
